Another person suggested that one had to go into Device Manager, uninstall the Garmin USB driver, then go back in to Device manager, select Action Scan for hardware changes, and then plug 'n play found the device driver which was then installed.

A Code 10 error is generated in Device Manager in one of the following situations:
- Device Manager can't start the device.
- One of the drivers that the device needs does not start.
- Device Manager has insufficient information to recognize the error that is bubbled up by the device driver.
Run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter.
Windows has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with the Bluetooth adapter. Refer these steps:
Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Hi Jessen,
thank you for the suggestion, but I'm running Windows 8.1 the GPSMAP 60CS worked OK on Windows 8. Strange enough I don't have any problems to connect the GPSMAP 60CSx with the same USB cable.

Before we proceed, I would like you to provide the information stated below:
1. Can you provide the exact error message that you receive with respect to the device?
2. How are you trying to connect the device, if not with a USB?
3. Do you have the latest drivers installed for the device?
For now, I suggest that you visit the manufacturer website of the device and check if the latest driver is available. If so I suggest that you uninstall and re-install the driver and check
- Right click on the Start button, and select “Device Manager”
- Find and double-click the driver from the left panel to uninstall.
- Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
- Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click OK to remove the driver.
- After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer.
- After you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please go to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the Windows 10 driver for your computer and check.
